and the winner is................

this morning we drew the raffle for our lovely queen size purple and green quilt at The Quilters Garden, Albion Park.
There was Margaret McCaughey, Doris Moran and (me) Janine Matthews present, we enjoyed a cuppa and chocolate cake while folding the tickets ready for drawing

First we shook up all the tickets in the bag

then Doris drew the winning ticket out, and.........

the winner is Veronica McGechen

we rang Veronica up as she didn't live to far away and here she is in front of the fabulous quilt

Todays Show and Tell...

Margaret has done a beautiful cross stich stocking for each of her grandchildren - what a trooper!

Cinza has used up all her scraps as you can see and also done the beautiful quilt in the centre of the collage - I could steal that one!
And Joan - she used and modified some 'Orphan' blocks to make this lovely sampler quilt for a family member who will soon be turning - was it 94?
Lovely ... well done everyone.

Well that's enough from me folks.
I will soon modify this site so that you guys can post to it and keep us all up to date with your projects and your happenings etc.

Our Christmas Swap

Here are our journals.
We exchanged them today at our Christmas GTG.
The swap was to make a cover for an A6 journal.
Clever aren't we?
Robyn very carefully numbered them all and then we drew a number - after a bit of jostling we all got one different to the one we brought ourselves!
I have used mine already - thanks Margaret.

Another quilt - this time for a special little boy

This 'Bugs in Bottles' quilt was made by the group in 2007 for this little guy.
His brother was disabled and very ill in one of the 'group homes' in our area.
The parents were spending heaps of time supporting the sick child so it was suggested by one of our then members Shiela that 'little brother' needed a quilt of his very own to snuggle up in.
Here he is checking out his 'bottles' of bugs.....

A stitching day - January 2005

Here we are stitching madly to finish off the 'Firies' quilts.
Looks like we were doing the bindings and sewing on labels ....
Lots of 'orphan' blocks were joined together to make quilts as fundraisers for our local Volunteer Fire Brigades.
